Komachin/ TESC MLK Day Project

This year APIC had the opportunity to work with eighth-graders from Komachin Middle School as part of their service learning for school. They made posters for our Movie Night with the BSU, participated in a impromptu poetry workshop, asked tons of questions about college and talked about the importance of community service. We look forward to working with you all again soon!

Piece written by Komachin students:

We today are doing a day of caring

We today are making a difference in the world.

Today we help our community.

Are school comes out of our daily schedule to help out the environment.

Today is a day to show how we care and how we want to make a difference in the world for the next generations. we are starters of a new and healthy environment.

Komachin Middle School separates into grups to go help on different subjects.

We’re learning why helping is important and showing that we care and want to help others.

We honor Marin Luther King Jr by going out to the community and making a difference.

Here are the five films that we have ordered, click on the links to read about them! We want to show/sponsor a film during week 7/8/9 (one of those…)! And remember that if we don’t see one of these films this quarter we can always show  them in Winter or Spring Quarter, or just screen them in an intimate APIC setting or potluck!
Please bring your top choice to the meeting tomorrow:
